Job Title

Travel RN – Charge Nurse, Progressive Care Unit / Clinical Decision Unit

Contract | Travel | Days | 6:45 AM – 7:15 PM | 13-Week Assignment | Full-Time

Key Responsibilities

• Serve as Charge Nurse on a 40-bed Progressive Care / Clinical Decision Unit focused on ED decompression and enhanced patient throughput
• Receive admitted patients from the ED and complete Admission Assessments, Medication Reconciliation, and initiation of acute care orders
• Maintain patient ratios of 1:5 (Step-Down) or 1:6 (Med-Surg), with a combined ratio of 1:5 on days
• Utilize Cerner for all clinical documentation and Baxter IV pumps for patient care
• Float to other units within skill set as needed, and assist with holiday coverage on a rotating basis
• Uphold patient safety standards and contribute to a fast-paced, high-turnover care environment serving a wide variety of diagnoses

Required Qualifications

• Active RN licensure in good standing
• Minimum of 2 years of recent experience in Med-Surg, Telemetry (remote), and Step-Down (PCU) settings
• Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
• Proficiency with Cerner documentation system
• Strong teamwork orientation with a positive attitude suited for a fast-paced, high-acuity environment

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Prior Charge Nurse experience or demonstrated willingness to take on charge responsibilities
• Additional clinical certifications beyond the required minimums
• Well-rounded clinical background across multiple diagnoses to support a direct admit and clinical decision unit model
