Job Summary:
A Hospice Registered Nurse (RN) position is available in Colchester, Vermont. This assignment lasts approximately 13 to 16 weeks and involves providing end-of-life patient care in a community hospice setting. The schedule includes seven consecutive nights from Monday at 5:00 PM through the following Monday at 8:00 AM, with the flexibility for on-call duties and optional overflow visits during the day shift. The role emphasizes meaningful patient interaction, symptom management, and care planning.

Job Details:

• Location: Colchester, Vermont
• Position: RN for Hospice
• Schedule: Nights, Monday 5:00 PM through the following Monday 8:00 AM; 12-hour shifts; minimum of 36 hours per week, totaling 72 hours per pay period.
• Required Qualifications:
  • AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
  • Minimum of 3 years of prior community hospice experience
  • Excellent typing skills for narrative-heavy electronic medical records
  • Experience in hospice/end-of-life care, complex symptom management, and patient education
  • Skills in symptom assessment and management, critical thinking, and goals of care discussions
  • Competence in medication management and administration via multiple routes (IV, subcutaneous, oral, etc.)
• Additional Information:
  • Orientation occurs bi-weekly on Mondays
  • No block schedules or extended time off within the assignment
  • Must have complete employment history, including facility type, EMR system, and bed count
  • Covid and Flu vaccination declinations are accepted with proof or declination documentation
  • Reliable transportation is essential due to lack of public transit access; personal or rental vehicle with all-season or snow tires recommended during winter months
