Newscast Director

Job Description KOAT, a Hearst Inc affiliate in Albuquerque, NM, seeks an experienced Newscast Director to manage all technical aspects of live production, coordinating with Producer, Technical Director, Audio Operator, Studio, and Engineering staff. The role reports to the News Operations Manager. Responsibilities Direct broadcast newscasts Provide creative input and collaborate with the newscast producer and production crew Ensure clean technical execution of the newscast look Call and punch a newscast during live broadcast Requirements 2+ years directing and technical directing a newscast Experience with production switchers, video servers, and audio and studio equipment Knowledge of MOS and basic computer network concepts Understanding of newsroom systems ENPS and video playback systems Technical know‑how to resolve existing issues and work around problems that arise during live news Ability to post the newscast to the website Flexibility to work varied hours, shifts, holidays, and weekends Military experience may be considered In‑person attendance is required Benefits Medical, Dental, Vision 401(k) matching Emotional Wellness Support Paid Time Off Paid Parental Leave LGBTQ+ Health Services Additional benefits to meet your and your family's needs Values in Action At Hearst Television, we tell stories every day, celebrating people of all backgrounds, perspectives, and identities.
