Location: Good Samaritan University Hospital

Our organization is actively seeking a Board-Certified Trauma Surgeon to join our Level 1 Trauma Center at Good Samaritan University Hospital located in West Islip, NY. This role will be primarily based at Good Samaritan Hospital (GSUH) in West Islip, NY, situated in Suffolk County.

In recent years, GSUH has experienced a significant expansion, highlighted by the opening of its 300,000 square-foot Patient Care Pavilion in 2025. This expansion features a state-of-the-art 78-bed adult emergency department, 16 operating rooms equipped with hybrid capabilities, and private medical-surgical patient rooms. These enhancements are designed to address community healthcare needs, attract skilled physicians, and elevate the facility to a Level 1 Trauma Center.

Clinical Services and Qualifications:

As a Trauma Surgeon, you will deliver high-quality, effective care in accordance with evidence-based trauma guidelines while ensuring exceptional service for trauma patients. This position will report directly to the Chair of the Surgery Department, the Medical Director of Trauma, and the Chief Medical Officer.

• Completion of a Fellowship in Surgical Critical Care or Trauma Surgery

• Board Eligible/Certified in General Surgery

• ATLS Certification required

• Oversee all facets of trauma care and collaborate with subspecialists

• Engage in a dynamic work environment that promotes a healthy work-life balance

• Participation in research publications is expected

Salary Range: $350,000 - $500,000

This salary range is a good faith estimate; actual compensation will depend on various factors, including the candidate's education, training, skills, licensure, certification, competencies, and relevant experience.
