Nursing Manager

Schedule: Full-Time | 3 nights per week | Every other weekend Work Setting: On-Site Salary: $140,000–$155,000 per year Position Overview Seeking an experienced Nursing Supervisor to provide leadership and oversight across the entire hospital during the night shift. This is a hands‑on Nurse Leader position responsible for being in charge of the full house. The ideal candidate has strong acute care/hospital background. The Nursing Supervisor will be visible throughout the hospital, rounding on units, supporting staff, addressing patient‑care needs and ensuring appropriate staffing and coverage throughout the night. Key Responsibilities Provide house‑wide nursing leadership and oversight during the night shift Serve as the senior nursing leader on‑site when other nursing leadership is not present Round throughout the hospital and maintain a visible presence on the units Support nurses and clinical teams with patient‑care and operational concerns Assess staffing needs and determine appropriate solutions when a nurse calls out or units become understaffed Make sound, timely decisions regarding staffing, patient care and operational issues Recognize situations that require escalation and communicate effectively with appropriate leadership Support safe, high‑quality patient care throughout the hospital Work effectively with physicians, nurses, ancillary departments and hospital leadership Manage effectively within a unionized environment Address challenging situations with professionalism, confidence and sound judgment Ensure policies, procedures and standards of care are followed Serve as a resource and leader for nursing staff across the entire facility Qualifications Minimum 5 years of nursing experience Significant acute care/hospital‑based experience required Previous experience in a nursing leadership or management role Must have experience managing from an acute care setting Strong understanding of hospital staffing and patient‑care operations Ability to confidently assess situations, make decisions and determine when to escalation Excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills Candidates whose current background is in long‑term care or rehabilitation may be considered if they have meaningful prior hospital/acute care management experience .
