Purchasing Assistant – Temp-to-Perm 

Support a Fast-Moving Manufacturing Team

A growing client in Highland, NY is seeking a detail-oriented Purchasing Assistant to provide administrative and operational support to their purchasing department. This is a temp-to-perm opportunity ideal for someone with purchasing or supply chain experience in a manufacturing setting.

Position Overview:

• Job Type: Temp-to-Perm
• Location: Highland, New York
• Schedule: Monday–Thursday, 7:30 AM–5:00 PM; Friday, 7:30 AM–11:30 AM
• Pay Range: $19–$23 per hour, based on experience

Purchasing Assistant Responsibilities:

• Track and update purchase orders, including pricing, delivery dates, and confirmations
• Communicate with vendors to resolve delays, discrepancies, and quality issues
• Coordinate with internal teams such as Receiving, QC, Warehouse, and Engineering
• Assist with tooling orders, freight coordination, and compliance documentation
• Maintain accurate records and update supplier quotes in the system
• Support inbound international shipments and initiate freight claims when needed

Purchasing Assistant Qualifications:

• Minimum 2 years of purchasing or administrative experience; manufacturing background preferred
• Familiarity with MRP systems
• Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
• Strong attention to detail, follow-through, and communication skills
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively across departments
