Position SummaryThe Electro-Mechanical Technician will lead operations in installing, troubleshooting, calibrating, and maintaining all instrumentation and mechanical equipment. This position reports to the Plant Manager.Key ResponsibilitiesEssential Duties/Responsibilities:Recognize safety hazards and follows safety guidelines for personal protection, protection of fellow workers and the protection of the publicKnowledgeable of environmental rules and regulations, and effectively apply them to all work situationsInstall, calibrate, test, troubleshoot, and maintain protective relays, computers, metering, monitoring, and control systems on plant equipment. In shop location includes performing benchwork and component troubleshootingTroubleshoot, repair and/or replace pumps, seals, bearings, gas compressors, gas blowers, electronic/pneumatic valvesExperience with shaft alignment of rotating equipmentRead and interpret plant P&ID's and CWD's to locate, identify, troubleshoot, and repair plant systems, interlocks, etc.Use test equipment (oscilloscopes, multi-meters electronic bridges, loop calibrators) and hand tools (i.e., drills, screwdrivers) as necessary to troubleshoot and maintain devices and systems for the power plantWork with plant technicians, operators, and skill enhancement employees to teach proper, safe use of tools and maintenance proceduresComplete all written and electronic records (i.e. work orders, calibration sheets, timecards, material requests) required to document the work in progress and as it is completedContinually update knowledge of plant systems and instrumentationMake decisions about how best to repair equipment and what resources (tools, time equipment) will be neededAdditional Responsibilities:On call rotation with lead operatorsAbility and willingness to operate GUS as neededWillingness to backfill all operational and leadership roles and responsibilities as neededTechnical Capabilities:Knowledge of 0–10 V and 4–20 mA control signals, as well as 24 VDC through 480 VAC three-phase electrical systemsAbility to use multimeter, loop calibrator, HART communicator, temperature calibrator, process calibrator, and insulation testerAdvanced electrical troubleshootingUnderstanding of electrical schematics and P&IDsBasic understanding of industrial controls- VFD, PLC, HMICalibration and troubleshooting of pressure/temperature/flow instrumentationUnderstand electrical control panel and machinery safety standards (UL 508A, NEC, NFPA)Minimum Requirements:Five (5) years industrial experience in I&E maintenance with strong mechanical abilities (required)Experience working within industrial process setting including RNG, Chemical or Treatment Facility, Mill, or RefineryCompletion of an Instrumentation and Electrical Training Program or a Mechanical Maintenance Training Program (preferred)Valid drivers licenseWorking Conditions & Physical Requirements:Able to use basic handheld instrumentsAbility to lift up to 75 lbsAble to climb fixed and movable ladders up to 35 feet highAbility to use basic hand tools (screwdrivers, hammers, pliers, electric drills, impact wrenches, shovels, brooms, etc.)Able to perform basic maintenance duties proficiently (replace/repair wear parts in machinery, adjust equipment, open/close tanks and heat exchangers, etc.)Comfortable working in confined spaces as needed (varies from daily to infrequently) and overhead work (reaching overhead and/or working on elevated equipment, etc.)Ability to repetitively lift/bend/kneel/walk/climb daily, depending on plant operation issues and work to be doneWillingness to wear and appropriately use all required personal protective equipment (safety glasses, steel toe shoes, hearing protection, respirators, fall protection, hard hats, etc.)What We Offer:Competitive compensation including significant productivity bonus that is paid out monthly and quarterlyComprehensive benefits package including health, dental, vision, disability, and life insurancePaid vacation and company holidaysHourly Base Pay Range: $40-45/hourDisclaimer: This job description is not intended to be a comprehensive list of the duties and responsibilities of the position, and the duties and responsibilities may change without notice.
