Fractional Senior Director of Operations

A pre-launch, better-for-you beverage company is seeking a hands-on Fractional Senior Director of Operations to build the operational infrastructure needed to launch and scale the business. This individual will partner directly with the Founder and serve as a team of one, balancing strategic planning with detailed execution.

Responsibilities

Build operational processes from the ground up ahead of launch.
Select, onboard, and manage a 3PL partner.
Coordinate production and logistics across the co-manufacturer, customs broker, and 3PL.
Establish inventory tracking, demand forecasting, and production-planning processes.
Develop fulfillment workflows for foodservice, DTC, distributors, and future retail partners.
Create practical tools, reporting, and documentation in Excel.

Candidate Profile

Required: Experience supporting a pre-launch CPG company through commercialization.
Food, beverage, or VMS experience required; natural or better-for-you experience preferred.
Strong experience with co-manufacturers, 3PLs, inventory planning, forecasting, and fulfillment.
Comfortable working independently in a lean startup and personally executing the work.
International importing experience and familiarity with East Coast 3PLs are preferred.

Engagement Details

Approximately 10–20 hours per week, with hours increasing closer to launch.
Remote; NYC tri-state area preferred.
Potential to expand into a full-time position as the business grows.
