Executive Director

Position Summary

The Christian Camp Meeting Association (CCMA) seeks an experienced, mission-driven Executive Director to serve as the chief operating leader of the organization. The Executive Director will be responsible for the day-to-day leadership, administration, and operation of CCMA and its affiliated activities, including the Craigville Retreat Center (CRC), Craigville Beach Association (CBA), Craigville Tennis Club, Craigville Post Office (not a functioning USPS facility), Tabernacle programs, roads, parks, grounds, buildings, and other community assets. Additional responsibilities include long-range planning and an emphasis on remediating issues of deferred maintenance.Effective management of the entire organization will require the Executive Director to make critical decisions on multiple issues, under direction of the CCMA Board of Directors, with transparency, communication, and responsiveness to community leaders, residents, employees, guests and patrons, contractors, and vendors.

The Executive Director will translate CCMA’s vision and priorities into effective operations, with excellence in hospitality, community engagement, facilities stewardship, financial management, personnel leadership, and long-term sustainability.

Founded in 1872, the Christian Camp Meeting Association is a nonprofit religious organization dedicated to providing opportunities for spiritual growth, worship, learning, fellowship, retreat, rest, and service in the Village of Craigville on Cape Cod.

CCMA owns and stewards significant community assets, including those listed above and other historic properties. The organization serves residents, visitors, retreat guests, church groups, nonprofit organizations, and the broader Craigville community.

Position Responsibilities

Organizational Leadership

Serve as the chief operating leader of CCMA and provide leadership across all operating areas of the organization.

Accountabilities include responsibility to implement strategic priorities established by the Board of Directors; provide day-to-day leadership for all CCMA operations; promote a culture of accountability, hospitality, service, stewardship, and collaboration; coordinate activities across departments, committees, volunteers, vendors, and contractors; and ensure effective communication throughout the organization.

Operations Management

Oversee operation of all CCMA facilities, programs, services, and properties.

Craigville Retreat Center: oversight of reservations and guest services, housing and accommodations, food service, and retreat and conference operations.

Community Operations: oversight of CBA; the Tennis Club; Post Office; Tabernacle; roads, parks, and common areas; and Village grounds and landscaping.

Facilities and Infrastructure: including utilities, vendor and contractor relationships, preventive maintenance, risk management, and capital improvements.

Staff Leadership and Human Resources

Responsibilities include recruiting, hiring, supervising, and retaining full-time employees and seasonal staff, providing clear job descriptions and performance expectations, conducting regular staff meetings and annual performance evaluations. Independent human resource consultants and advisors will be provided, as appropriate.

Financial Management and Stewardship

Work closely with the CCMA Treasurer and Board of Directors to ensure the responsible stewardship of CCMA's financial resources.

Responsibilities include preparing and administering operating and capital budgets;. monitoring financial performance; managing revenues, expenditures, and organizational assets; identifying opportunities to improve financial sustainability; and participating in long-range financial planning and capital asset management.

Development, Marketing, and Communications

Support CCMA's mission through effective community engagement, communications, and fundraising activities.

Transition Leadership

A significant responsibility of this position will be assisting CCMA through the transition from an externally managed operating model to an independent, more integrated organizational structure.

Board Relations and Governance Support

The Executive Director reports directly to the Board of Directors and serves as the Board's principal staff liaison.

Responsibilities includecommunicating regularly and effectively with the Board, through written reports, attending meetings, and supporting committees.

Reporting Relationships

Direct reports to the Executive Director may include leadership positions responsible for Retreat Center operations, facilities and maintenance, housekeeping, and beach operations.

Required Qualifications

• Leadership experience managing a complex nonprofit, hospitality, retreat center, conference center, camp, community organization, or similar operation.
• Experience overseeing annual operating budgets of at least $1 million.
• Strong financial management and budgeting skills.
• Demonstrated ability to negotiate and analyze vendor contracts.
• Appropriate educational background and training.
• Experience supervising employees and managing teams.
• Experience managing facilities and capital projects.
• Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.

Compensation and Benefits

Anticipated starting annual salary range is $90,000 to $130,000.
