Shift: Weekend Night Shift (7 pm‑7 am), United States. This position is for a Weekend Respiratory Therapist (Night Shift 7 pm‑7 am) with a significant sign‑on bonus and relocation assistance for qualified, experienced Respiratory Therapists. Core Responsibilities and Essential Functions Provides Customer Service Completes patient care, documentation and education Works in a team approach to service Promotes a team spirit and positive work environment Provides a supportive environment for students and staff Administers quality patient care Performs patient assessment and assessment for therapy Collaborates with health‑care team members in planning patient care Verifies orders and administers aerosolized medication, bronchial hygiene, volume expansion, oxygen and medical gas therapy Performs ventilator management, weaning, waveform graphic interpretation, and airway management (intubation, extubation, trach tube change and care) Performs arterial blood gas sampling and analysis Educates patients and mentors/precepts new employees, students and peers Assists with invasive and non‑invasive procedures, Cardiac Service procedures, and Pulmonary Diagnostic Testing Promotes current and accurate electronic orders, charting and charging Promotes a high level of patient safety (Medication Safety, NPSG, etc.) Promotes performance improvement initiatives designed to promote quality care Promotes evidence‑based practice Reviews revised and new DPPs Performs other duties as assigned Complies with all WellStar Health System policies, standards of work, and code of conduct Qualifications Graduate of an accredited respiratory therapy education program (CoARC or CAAHP) with at least 20 quarter hours of science coursework Associate's Degree (A.S.) required Bachelor's Degree preferred 0–2 years of clinical experience with a minimum of 6 months of critical care experience Ability to communicate well, critical‑thinking skills, and to establish and maintain working relationships with physicians and other health‑care professionals; computer skills including familiarity with databases Strong customer relation, assessment and communication skills are a must for this job Registered Respiratory Therapist license required Respiratory Care Professional certification required Basic Life Support certification required Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification required Join us and discover the support to do more meaningful work—and enjoy a more rewarding life.
