Overview Job Description – Medical Support Specialist (Plasma Center Nurse) at BioLife Plasma Services, a subsidiary of Takeda Pharmaceutical Company Ltd. You will support plasma center operations, determine donor eligibility, manage donor safety, review laboratory results, and notify donors of unsuitable test results. You will report to the Plasma Center Manager (or Assistant Manager) and work under the Center Physician for medical issues. Familiarity with plasma collection regulations or a manufacturing environment is expected, and you will follow guidance from BioLife Medical Affairs and support center-level environmental, health and safety (EHS) activities. What You Will Contribute Determine donor eligibility, including informed consent, AIDS education and confidential self-exclusion, medical history interview and acceptance requirements, physical examination, blood testing, and review of Serological Protein Electrophoresis (SPE). Evaluate donor reactions and follow SOPs for medical emergencies, including development of Center Physician's standing orders and donor transport to emergency care facilities. Refer to Center Physician or Medical Affairs for unacceptable findings or guidance on medical or technical issues, including donor safety and eligibility. Support the Hepatitis B and Seasonal Flu vaccination programs for employees where applicable. Manage employee incidents and determine whether further evaluation is required by occupational health/ER, referring to EHS guidance as needed. Act as Pandemic Coordinator when authorized by EHS and support investigations related to pandemic threats within the local community as directed by EHS or Medical Affairs. What You Bring to Takeda High school diploma or equivalent to include graduate equivalent of a recognized educational nursing program with state requirements. Currently licensed or certified in the state where responsibilities will be assigned: EMT-Paramedic. Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and AED certification. Fulfill state requirements (in state of licensure) for basic IV therapy. Satisfactorily complete the FDA-approved training requirements for BioLife Medical Support Specialist. Two years in a clinical or hospital setting. We are committed to equitable pay and transparency in pay practices. For location: USA - GA - Douglasville; U.S. Hourly Wage Range: $24.32 - $33.44. The actual wage offered depends on qualifications, experience, skills, education, certifications or licenses, and location.
