Aerospace Quality Specialist

Salary: $83,200 - 99,840 per year Requirements:

• Knowledge of IPC-610/-620 requirements, metrology inspection software, engineering processes, standard drawing conventions, technical drawings and specifications, and GD&T.
• Familiarity with FAA, EAR, ITAR, ISO, and AS9100 standards and regulations; PPAP, PFMEA, MSA, process flows, and control plans; quality-control standards and inspection methods; manufacturing documentation and processes; and MS Office and quality data-entry systems.
• Practical experience implementing quality-engineering tools and systems—including DOE, FMEA, SPC, RCCA, APQP, PPAP, control plans, material and process control, systems performance, product evaluation, MSA, metrology, and automated measurement software—is preferred.
• Demonstrate professionalism, integrity, attention to detail, independent decision-making, problem-solving, analytical ability, and sound professional judgment; build effective working relationships.
• Fluent English reading and writing skills, plus strong documentation, interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
• High school diploma or bachelors degree in a relevant field.
• At least one year of production quality experience, including demonstrated nonconformance management and MRB exposure.
• At least one year of experience conducting layered process, product, torque, or teardown audits.
• Advanced Excel proficiency required; Minitab, JMP, and basic SQL experience strongly preferred. Prior experience with inspection processes and nonconformance systems is also required.
• We may consider an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• U.S. citizenship is required. Candidates must pass pre-employment background screening, including DMV and credit checks, and drug screening.
• The shift may vary according to program needs.

• Approve production nonconformances and support Material Review Board (MRB) disposition activities with the Production Quality Engineer; assist with containment, including sorting, rework, and isolation, under PQE/MQE direction.
• Conduct layered process, product, torque, teardown, and other quality audits.
• Maintain production targets, including nonconformance approvals and inspection coverage during staffing gaps.
• Serve as the primary contact for harvesting prioritization and author and maintain inspection-process SOPs.
• Manage ordering and tracking of inspection-team tools and equipment.
• Lead large-scale nonconformance-reduction initiatives under PQE guidance, or independently lead smaller initiatives in high-ambiguity situations.
• Define problems, develop action plans, and drive them to completion; analyze quality data using Advanced Excel, Minitab, JMP, and SQL by running pre-built queries with filter inputs.
• Document inspection results, maintain accurate records, and prepare detailed reports.
• Process and identify nonconforming product and MRB paperwork for appropriate disposition; perform other duties as assigned.

The role pays $40–$48 per hour and is eligible for overtime; compensation depends on factors including responsibilities, experience, education, skills, internal equity, and market considerations.
