JOB TITLE: Social Media ManagerDEPARTMENT: Marketing & CommunicationsDIVISION: Institutional AdvancementSUPERVISOR: Associate Director of Marketing and CommunicationsPURPOSE OF THE JOBThis job exists to aid in marketing and communicating the overall message of Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary and Judson College through telling the Southeastern story on social media, building relationships through social media, scheduling all social media content, and coordinating social media content creation.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIESPrimary manager of external social media accounts under the supervision and direction of the Associate Director of MarketingImplement the social media strategies directed by the Associate Director of Marketing and the Director of Marketing and Communications by scheduling social media postsWork with other members of the Marketing and Communications team in conception and execution of visual elements, verbal messaging, and video content for social media marketing and communicationRepresent the voice of the institution both in original posts and by responding to others via the institutional social media accounts:Dedicated time daily to respond to all messages, tags, and mentionsDedicated time daily to proactively engage with the Southeastern audienceDedicated time to keep up with what is going on in SBC and evangelical circles on social media and to seek to anticipate opportunities or issuesRegularly posting organic social media content of campus life, live events, etc.Coordinate with photographers, designers, and copywriters to execute social media content creationGenerate and execute creative, on-brand video contentCover chapel twice weekly during the school yearCover events, conferences, or concerts on campusOTHER DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIESAssist individual faculty and staff as well as other offices as needed with individual social media strategiesOffice liaison with other institutional social media accounts managed by other departmentsManaging the @AroundSE social media to promote events put on by the Student Life officeCoverage of Southeastern Seminary at the Southern Baptist Convention and other major conferencesWork collaboratively with other team members to brainstorm new ideas for social media contentWork with other team members to make sure event coverage or other social media needs are taken care of in the absence of the social media managerAssist other team members as needed and as ableSUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIESNoneKNOWLEDGE AND SKILLSRequiredExcellent organization and planning skillsAbility to work under deadline pressure, with the ability to collaborate with a multi-task team of writers, designers, and supervisorsThe ability to manage multiple tasks at a time with attention to small detailsBasic knowledge of CapCut or comparable video editing toolsWillingness to learn basic graphic design principles and skills to aid in the creation of social media contentThe willingness to learn, master, and communicate the “voice” of SoutheasternPreferredBachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, or related field OR relevant work experience in social media marketing.Knowledge of content creation best practicesBasic working knowledge of Adobe Creative Cloud apps or Adobe Creative Cloud ExpressBasic understanding of graphic designFISCAL RESPONSIBILITYOversight of budget for Meta advertisingEXTENT OF PUBLIC CONTACTWithin the seminary: Regular contact with other staff, faculty, students, event attendees, etc.Outside the seminary: Occasional need for contact with other members of the public at events, conferences, in the community, campus visitors or guests, etc.PHYSICAL DEMANDSAbility to stand for long periods of time (for example, at events where seating is not provided)Ability to be on one’s feet for long periods of time while covering events or gathering social media organic contentWORKING CONDITIONS AND ENVIRONMENTAttends certain campus events, which may be scheduled on the weekend or weeknightsDuring certain weeks there may be multiple major events requiring extra hours of work, including the SBC Annual Meeting and the bi-annual meeting of the Board of Trustees and Southeastern SocietyShares a collaborative office environment with 3–4 other staff members #J-18808-Ljbffr Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary
