Location : Avera Behavioral Health Center - Sioux Falls Work Shift : Rotating days, evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays (United States) Pay Range : $32.50 - $48.50 per hour (actual rate depends on experience) Position Highlights Eligible for a Sign On Bonus of up to $15,000 Flexible scheduling program Opportunity for varied shifts (72 hrs/2 weeks) Unit Highlights Adult C Unit – 26‑bed structured, therapeutic environment for adults Average ratio of 1 RN to 7‑8 patients Support for high‑quality patient care and critical thinking Student Loan Repayment Program: $167 extra payment per month (up to $10,000) Why Behavioral Health Matters Our Adult C Unit helps patients understand diagnoses, develop crisis response plans, and set and achieve goals while learning healthy coping skills. Responsibilities Provide patient care by reviewing physician prescriptions and coordinating with other healthcare providers Communicate and implement nursing care plans, including physical, emotional, psychological, and spiritual support for patients, families, and friends Perform assessments, obtain medical histories, and document patient physical condition and psychological status Develop nursing diagnoses, establish care objectives, define interventions, and schedule timelines Teach patients and families about condition management, medication, and self‑care skills Monitor patient outcomes, modify care plans, and adhere to therapeutic standards Maintain a safe environment by following infection‑control policies, medication protocols, and legal regulations Chart and document patient services in electronic records Maintain equipment, supplies, and preventive maintenance procedures Continuously develop nursing competence as outlined by leadership Essential Qualifications Registered Nurse (RN) with an active Board of Nursing license in the state of practice Ability to work the specified hours, with adequate visual acuity and strong communication skills Experience and knowledge of infection‑control, medication administration, and controlled substance regulations Knowledge of legal and regulatory requirements relevant to healthcare delivery Commitment to an inclusive and respectful work environment Preferred Qualifications 1‑3 years of experience working in a clinical environment Expectations and Standards Apply Avera’s mission, vision, core values, and social principles daily Promote compassion, hospitality, and stewardship Uphold CARE values: Communication, Attitude, Responsiveness, and Engagement Maintain confidentiality and comply with safety principles, laws, regulations, and standards Collaborate effectively with team members to ensure efficient workflow Benefits PTO available day one for eligible hires Up to 5% employer‑matching contribution for retirement Career development through hands‑on training and mentorship Student Loan Repayment Program: $167 extra monthly payment (up to $10,000) Avera is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
