Where New Graduate RNs Can Begin Their Journey Brain & Spine (BSI) – 2 West Neuro Critical Care (NCC) Cardiopulmonary (CVS/PULM) – 1 East Oncology (Avera Cancer Institute) Orthopedic Trauma – 1 & 2 Main Short Stay – 4th floor Main Surgical Renal – 3 East Surgical Trauma – 1 West Intensive Care Unit (ICU) Labor and Delivery (Women’s Center 3rd floor) Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) Postpartum/Gyn – 4 East Behavioral Health Units – Adult B, Adult C, Acute Adult, Adolescent, Child BHS, Urgent Care Unit Overview Deliver nursing care by developing nursing diagnoses; establishing objectives; defining interventions; providing physical, emotional, psychological, and spiritual support to patients, families, and friends; monitoring changes and re-evaluating care objectives. What You Will Do Provide patient care and review physician prescriptions. Communicate nursing care plans and pertinent information to the health care team. Coordinate with other healthcare providers and provide support to patients, families, and friends. Develop nursing care plans, including obtaining histories, examining patients, documenting status, and establishing diagnoses, objectives, and interventions. Teach patients and families about condition, medications, and self‑care skills. Evaluate patient care using therapeutic standards, measure outcomes, review records, and modify care plans as needed. Maintain a safe environment by adhering to infection‑control policies, medication procedures, controlled substance regulations, and legal requirements. Document patient services by charting in patient and department records. Keep equipment operating by following instructions, troubleshooting, maintaining supplies, and coordinating repairs. Maintain supplies by checking stock, anticipating needs, and ordering as necessary. Maintain competence in nursing capabilities as directed by leadership. Essential Qualifications Registered Nurse with an active license in the state of practice. Ability to work rotating days, evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays. Visual acuity adequate for duties and effective communication skills. Reasonable accommodations may be made for disabilities. Preferred Education and Experience 1–3 years of experience working in a clinical environment.
