Assistant Professor of Kinesiology (tenure-track)

Assistant Professor (tenure-track) Kinesiology Department St. Edward's University, a nationally ranked, independent Catholic university and Hispanic Serving Institution (HSI), invites applications for a full-time, 9-month, tenure-track position as an assistant professor in the Department of Kinesiology, beginning August 2027. St. Edward's is characterized by its commitment to the Holy Cross educational mission of educating the hearts and minds of a diverse student body deeply committed to social justice. Teaching is central to the mission of St. Edward's University, and the teaching load for this position is 12 credits per semester. New tenure-track faculty receive one course reassignment per year for research. Courses are delivered face-to-face. The successful candidate will be expected to teach courses such as Exercise Physiology; Strength Training and Conditioning; Musculoskeletal Anatomy and Biomechanics; and Exercise Testing and Prescription. Candidates may also be expected to teach Anatomy and Physiology I as well as Anatomy and Physiology II. For consideration, candidates must possess an earned doctorate in exercise physiology, exercise science, kinesiology or related area.

QUALIFICATIONS

Demonstrated experience in college-level teaching and scholarship required; Excellent written and spoken English communication skills; A strong commitment to and demonstrated potential for excellence in teaching and training undergraduates from diverse backgrounds; Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and demonstrated ability to work collaboratively; Successful completion of employment and/or criminal background check is required.
