Manufacturing Tech II Kelly Engineering is hiring a Manufacturing Tech II for a long‑term contract with a Global Medical Device Robotics & Digital Solutions client in San Jose, CA. Key Responsibilities Provide updates to Manufacturing Leadership on work status and identify problems with recommendations for improvement or correction. Troubleshoot electrical, test, mechanical, facilities or hydraulic systems, components, and equipment. Apply nonstandard test techniques where normal procedures do not fulfill testing needs. Check tools and test equipment for proper calibration and repair according to standard operating procedures. Perform cross‑functional communication and coordination with various teams to align to production schedule, supporting day‑to‑day tactical actions in support of the line lead and Supervisor. Utilize MES in day‑to‑day operations during production activities. Prepared to support not only assembly efforts on the production floor, but also support all repairs & rework. Will be required to learn and attain proficiency with additional areas of production as required. Support and strive to be proficient in troubleshooting processes within the subsystem and more (as needed). Record assignments and prepare documentation concerning materials, parts used, concepts, designs, drawings, and processes. Administer test protocols and document results; coordinate the manufacturing phase of new products or product changes. Respond to safety issues by recommending and implementing a resolution; complete specialized studies or experiments and prepare reports on results. Employee must be familiar with Kanban day‑to‑day production. Qualifications and Requirements Vocational training Certificate, Technical or Associate’s degree preferred or equivalent. Proof of a High School diploma. A minimum of 2‑4 years of equivalent work experience required. Must have experience as a Manufacturing Technician for a Type I or II medical device company or complex electromechanical capital equipment manufacturer, with hands‑on experience with Good Documentation Practices (GDP) or the equivalent. Electrical troubleshooting experience such as proper use of multimeter, isolation, grounding, use oscilloscope to aid problem solving. Proficient at multiple assembly and test tasks while meeting requirements for workmanship, safety and productivity. Relevant demonstrated experience with anti‑static/ESD principles and controls. 1‑2 years of minimum experience as an assembler, tester, or associate of a Type II or Type III medical device company or complex electromechanical capital equipment manufacturer. Ability to work overtime (as needed by business); these hours will vary from starting before 6:00 am and extending beyond 2:30 pm to include weekends. Ability to communicate with cross‑functional stakeholders within their team. Works well with a diverse team of different skill sets; willingness to learn and grow. Proficient at Kanban Operations and GDP processes. Familiar with not only manufacturing production & assembly but also testing procedures that involve Ubuntu software and MES. Efficient ability to communicate effectively with teams and communicate messaging with leadership to problem solve – will require initiative and collaboration. Initiative in day‑to‑day activities. Problem‑solve. Great at following, reading, and understanding instructions. Familiar with assembly tools, torque wrenches, screwdrivers, hand drivers, tweezers, calipers, multimeter, IPA, various presses, and adhesives (Loctite). Preferred Experience with using Learning Management Systems such as Cornerstone, AGILE PLM, MES, and SAP. Working Hours Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday; work hours may vary between 6:00 am to 2:30 pm (1st shift) or 10:00 am to 6:30 pm (2nd shift). Occasional evening and weekend work may be required. This role is based in Santa Clara.
