ESS Project ManagerWe are seeking an ESS Project Manager for our federal team based out of our Huntsville, AL supporting Minot AFB in North Dakota. This role is primarily responsible for managing a portfolio of electronic and integrated security system projects (access controls, intrusion detection, video management systems, etc.) for projects at various U.S. military and other federal government sites.At Johnson Controls, we support our nation's most critical facilities, the people who occupy them, and the missions they enable. We help modernize U.S. military installations, Department of Defense and other federal agency facilities to be smarter, more resilient, efficient, sustainable, and secure.Location: Huntsville, AL / Minot AFB, North Dakota Benefits: Eligible for benefits on first day of employment Paid Time Off: 3 weeks paid vacation, 5 sick days, 3 floating holidays, and 10 standard holidays (6.5 weeks in total) Travel Required: Around 50%As an ESS Project Manager, you will:Serve as a primary leader for execution on assigned projects. Develop project schedules and executes according to plan.Manage the selection, scope of work, procurement, quality and payment of project materials, vendors and subcontractorsNegotiates, prepares and issues subcontractsEnsures that assigned projects are done accurately, on time, billed within budget and within scope of the contract.Adheres to and ensures project personnel and subcontractors adhere to all safety standards, internal policies, and requirements regarding health and safety.Understand project and contract scopes; actively pursues growth opportunities that will help the customer achieve desired outcomesEnsures Technicians, subcontractors and other site personnel complete assigned work per established standards, and thoroughly communicate the services performed and completion criteria to customersComplete timely and accurate project billing to maintain profitability goals and positive cash flowAnalyze financial reporting and project schedule to proactively address potential problems. Effectively communicates project progress, issues and financial status to leadership as requiredProvide periodic project status updates, and monthly revenue, cost, and gross margin forecastsManage risk, establish project recovery plans, and resolve disputes to minimize escalationEnsure project document controls and deliverables comply with contract requirements and Johnson Controls standardsManages the selection, ordering, and delivery schedule of materials to be procured for the projects assignedCoordinates customer-training requirementsResponsible for the management of the Quality Control functions, including the coordination, supervision and documentation of inspection and testing services for the project(s) assignedResponsible for assuring that the quality of the work meets or exceeds the project's contractual requirements and maintains the standard of excellence established by the customer.Works with customer(s) to address and mitigate deficiencies in quality of service, contract scope of work, warranty items, or other related issuesManages quality control inspection program to ensure compliance with performance work statement (PWS)Participates in the review of design, installation and documentation to ensure that the design and customer's requirements are met on assigned corrective work ordersCommunicates significant issues or developments identified during quality control activities and provides recommended process improvements to management to drive efficienciesResolves client problems and/or conflicts as it pertains to quality and maintains open communication with the client including providing regular written and oral reports to ensure satisfactionProvide updates and reports for review and submission to the customerComplies with all company policies and procedures and adheres to company standardsPerforms other duties as requiredRequired Qualifications:Three (3) or more years of direct project management experience in the building construction or facilities maintenance industryTechnical competency and experience working with commercial or industrial Electronic Security Systems (EES) to include evaluation of contractual scope, specification interruption, change order management, basic design, and installation standardsExperience managing project financials (P&L management experience)Ability to obtain and maintain required government security clearances as needed. (This involves a background/character, criminal history, employment, and credit check.)Preferred Qualifications:Experience managing large projects (in excess of $1 million)Experience working with SCIF environmentsProficient in Project Management software and financial accounting systems.
