Description

Troubleshoot and repair of facility related equipment, i.e., forklifts, a/c units, compressors, and machines.

Essential duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Understands/adheres to safety requirements within the department and company. Uses basic hand tools. Drives equipment/vehicles such as forklifts, scissor lifts, boom lifts and street vehicles. Assists other level 2 mechanics with plumbing, electrical, and framing. Assists contractors and vendors when needed. Assists with managing the preventive maintenance on facility related equipment, i.e., forklifts, a/c units, and compressors. Develops procedures for repairs and training aids for level 1 Technicians. Must be able to operate both powered and non-powered material handling equipment including forklifts, pallet jack, cranes, and mobile straddle stacker lift. Employees must report any damage to a supervisor or manager.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications: Maintain an active Haas Forklift certification. Work with little to no supervision. Excellent knowledge in troubleshooting facility related equipment. Expert in all phases of facility repairs in, construction, remodeling, and maintenance of buildings and grounds.

Desired Qualifications: Education: High school diploma or high school equivalency (HSE) credential such as general education degree (GED) is required, plus additional related experience, training and/or equivalent combination of education and experience. Preferred Major: Other. Minimum Years of Experience: 5-10 years.

Language Skills: Must have the ability to read, write, and comprehend instructions and safety rules; such as work instructions, short correspondence, and memos in English. Must be able to effectively present information to the following: in a one-on-one setting or small group situations for our customers, clients, and/or other employees of the organization.

Mathematical Skills: Must have the ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. May need to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret graphs.

Reasoning Ability: Must have the ability to apply common sense and understanding in order to carry out written, oral, and/or diagram instruction forms. Must be able to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
