How you’ll make an impact in this role

• Conduct comprehensive pre-surgical assessments by evaluating patient health status, medical histories, and medications to proactively identify potential risks and ensure clinical readiness for anesthesia and surgery.

• Empower patients and families through clear, empathetic pre-operative education, ensuring they fully understand their upcoming procedure, required preparations, and post-operative recovery plans.

• Collaborate across multidisciplinary teams to initiate physician consultations and order targeted pre-operative testing, guaranteeing all necessary clinical data is secured well before the surgery date.

• Guide logistical and discharge planning with patients or their representatives regarding timing, transportation, and inpatient stays to ensure a seamless, stress-free transition through the care continuum.

What minimum requirements you’ll need

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

• Registered Nurse credentialed from the Indiana Board of Nursing obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.
• BLS Provider preferred. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.

Education:

• Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing OR required professional licensure at time of hire.

What additional preferences we're seeking

• Previous experience in perioperative or preadmission testing environments preferred
• Proficiency in EMR documentation preferred
• Knowledge of surgical preparation and patient education preferred
