Patient Service Associate - EmUrgentcare

Albany Medical Center

Overview Join the Latham EmUrgent Care team as a Patient Care Associate. The position is full‑time (36 hours/week) divided into three 12‑hour shifts and requires occasional onsite travel. This role involves maintaining a fast‑paced environment by providing high‑quality, patient‑centered care in a team setting. Responsibilities Clean and maintain equipment and examination rooms at all times. Collect vital signs and brief medical history of patients. Direct patients to examination rooms and ensure rooms are set up for efficient care. Order and restock medical supplies. Support medical providers and front‑desk staff as a team member. Collect registration and scheduling information for complex patients. Maintain accurate patient records and insurance information in the electronic health record. Prepare patient disability and absence paperwork. Explain financial obligations and regulatory forms, answering patient questions. Handle phone calls and manage patient‑facing interactions across multiple systems. Promote a safe environment and report issues promptly. Represent Albany Medical Center and uphold its values and safety priorities. Qualifications High School Diploma or G.E.D. – required. 2–3 years of office experience or one year of related experience in a medical practice – preferred. Experience with electronic health records and Microsoft Office a plus. Excellent customer service skills. Ability to multi‑task in a high patient volume unit. Strong time‑management and problem‑solving skills. Strong teamwork skills and a strong work ethic. Good judgment and ability to review information and draw appropriate conclusions. Education Requirements High School Diploma or equivalent. Experience Basic medical terminology knowledge. Experience multi‑tasking as a team player in a fast‑paced setting.
