Staff Accountant
We are seeking for our client, a Staff Accountant to join a leading direct-to-consumer insurance services business. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work with a highly skilled team supporting the profitability and financial operations of the business. You will collaborate across departments, interact with business stakeholders, and play a key role in financial reporting and process improvement.
Base pay range
$68,000.00/yr - $80,000.00/yr
Key Responsibilities
- Manage reconciliation of costs related to partner and digital lead generation.
- Work with cross-functional teams to ensure proper cost recognition and timely resolution of discrepancies.
- Execute month-end closing processes for costs and accruals.
- Reconcile general ledger accounts for accurate reporting.
- Prepare journal entries and payroll-related reconciliations.
- Handle intercompany activity for proper financial statement presentation.
- Assist with external audit requests.
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
- Support special projects as needed and contribute positively to the team environment.
- Thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic work environment.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.
- 3+ years of accounting experience (general ledger, reconciliations).
- Strong knowledge of GAAP.
- Proficiency in Excel; NetSuite experience a plus.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and time-management skills.
- Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
- Critical thinking and high attention to detail.
Ideal Candidate
- Polished professional with a clean background and strong communication skills.
- Open to working 2 days per week in the Fort Lee, NJ office or Canton, OH office.
- Bright, driven, and motivated to learn; prior audit experience is a plus.

This role reports to the Financial Controller and is part of a small, collaborative accounting team. The hiring process includes three steps, including an Excel assessment.
