Our client, a Healthcare company, is looking for a Certified Surgical Technologist for their Bozeman, MT location.

Responsibilities:

The Surgical Technologist Certified functions in the role of scrub person. Works under the supervision of the surgeon and the R.N. to ensure that the O.R. environment is safe, equipment functions properly and that the operative procedure is conducted under conditions that maximize patient safety. Must possess expertise in the theory and application of surgical technique, human anatomy, surgical procedures, and implementation of tools and technologies to facilitate safe care of the patient during invasive therapeutic and diagnostic procedures.

Responsible for assuring completion of case carts according to preference cards. Recognizes and interprets preference cards for the procuring of instruments and supplies

Communicates clearly with operating room staff and sterile processing staff members to coordinate instrumentation throughout the day for scheduled and non-scheduled cases.

Reviews daily schedule with the charge nurse and the day coordinator of sterile processing identifying possible turnover delays and scheduling issues

Assumes responsibility for the core phone and communications inherent with the position, delegates duties accordingly and coordinates breaks and lunches with appropriate individuals.

Resource for the departments of SPD and Surgical Services for the procurement of necessary items, both supply and instrumentation, for scheduled and non-scheduled surgical procedures.

Communicates and coordinates with materials management in regards to supply utilization and deployment

The Surgical Technologist First Assistant works in collaboration with the surgeon and other health care team members to achieve optimal patient outcomes, has acquired the necessary knowledge, judgement, and skills specific to the expanded role of FA clinical practice, intraoperatively practices at the direction of the surgeon. Functions in an expanded perioperative Surgical Technologist role.

In addition to the essential functions of the job listed below, employees must have on-time completion of all required education as assigned per DNV requirements, client policy, and other registry requirements.

Intraoperative performance of surgical first-assistant techniques using instruments and medical devices providing surgical site exposure handling and / or cutting tissue providing hemostasis suturing

Postoperative patient management in collaboration with other health care providers in the immediate postoperative period and beyond participating in postoperative rounds assisting with patient discharge planning and identifying appropriate community resources

Requirements:

High School Diploma or Equivalent

Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technologist program; or equivalent military surgical technologist program

American Heart Association BLS

Certified Surgical Technologist

1 year surgical technologist experience in acute care operating room

Ability to work in a busy and stressful environment

Strong emotional intelligence, interpersonal and teamwork skills

Demonstrates sound judgement, patience, and maintains a professional demeanor at all times

Creativity, problem analysis and decision making

Detail oriented, organizational skills and the ability to prioritize

Exercises tact, discretion, sensitivity and maintains confidentiality

Associates Degree in Surgical Technology or equivalent training

American Heart Association BLS

Certified Surgical Technologist (CST)

Certified Surgical First Assistant

Three (3) years of experience in OR

Demonstrates sound judgment, patience, and maintains a professional demeanor at all times

Exercises tact, discretion, sensitivity, and maintains confidentiality

Performs essential job functions successfully in a busy and stressful environment

Learns current and new computer applications and office equipment utilized at client

Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills

Analyzes, organizes, and prioritizes work while meeting multiple deadlines

Minimum Years of Experience Less than 1 year

BLS/BCLS
