We are looking for a Strategic Operations Manager to join our Category Growth organization and drive high-priority initiatives from strategy through execution and measurement.Depending on the focus area, your work may range from using data to uncover insights and build reporting that informs business decisions, to owning operational programs and cross-functional initiatives that drive growth and improve the customer and merchant experience.You will succeed in this role if you are highly analytical, comfortable navigating ambiguity, and equally willing to develop the strategy and roll up your sleeves to execute it.What You'll DoOwn high-priority initiatives end-to-end — define the problem, build a plan, coordinate stakeholders, drive execution, and measure outcomesBuild and maintain reporting and dashboards — create trusted views of performance, support recurring business reviews, and help the team understand what is happening and whyTurn data into insights and action — analyze performance trends, identify opportunities, and synthesize findings into clear recommendationsSpot gaps and build solutions — identify where measurement, process, or operating structure is missing or broken, then help create the framework needed to close itCollaborate cross-functionally — work across teams including Category, Growth, and Marketing to translate business priorities into action, align stakeholders, and unblock executionBasic Qualifications4+ years of experience in analytics, operations, strategy, business intelligence, project management, or a related fieldStrong SQL proficiency — comfortable writing queries independently to analyze business performance and answer business questionsBachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experiencePreferred QualificationsBackground in grocery, retail, CPG, e-commerce, marketplaces, or a related industryExperience building and maintaining dashboards and reporting in tools like Looker, Tableau, or similar BI platformsProficiency in Excel / Google Sheets for analysis, reporting, and ad hoc workDemonstrated ability to translate data into clear, actionable insights for non-technical audiencesDemonstrated ability to own workstreams end-to-end and drive execution across stakeholdersAdvanced SQL proficiency and experience working independently with complex datasetsProficiency in Python for data manipulation, automation, and analysisExperience designing or analyzing A/B tests and understanding statistical significanceStrong stakeholder management and cross-functional collaboration skillsTenacious problem-solver who is comfortable navigating ambiguity and finding a path forwardStrong attention to detail and commitment to data accuracyProven ability to balance multiple workstreams and consistently deliver against deadlines in a fast-paced environmentResponsibilitiesFor Chicago, IL-based roles: The base salary range for this role is USD $118,000 per year - USD $131,000 per year.For New York City, NY-based roles: The base salary range for this role is USD $131,000 per year - USD $145,000 per year.For San Francisco, CA-based roles: The base salary range for this role is USD $131,000 per year - USD $145,000 per year.For all US locations, you will be eligible to participate in Uber's bonus program, and may be offered an equity award & other types of comp. All full-time employees are eligible to participate in a 401(k) plan.
