Pre-Analytical Assistant I

Pre-Analytical Assistant I – Sacramento, CA Tuesday to Saturday, 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM. Pay range: $20.60–$22.95 per hour. Salary offers are based on relevant skills, training, experience, education, and certifications. Employees may be eligible for an annual performance bonus. Responsibilities Learn job duties assigned to the Pre-Analytical Assistant I and develop an understanding of how all functions in Tech Ops and Specimen Processing work together and impact technical departments and result quality. Identify problems with specimen types, missing information, etc., regarding sorting, racking, centrifuging, delivery, and storage of specimens; resolve or forward information to support timely problem resolution. Understand compliance policies related to test ordering, including researching test order information on translation tables, computer systems, and the directory of services. Meet quality and production standards within six months of completing training. Complete all required written documentation such that it is understandable to others, legible, and within the assigned time frame. Report to work on time and follow attendance guidelines; support the department’s performance in the event of coworker absences. Learn additional functions within Tech Ops and Specimen Processing to allow timely progression to the next level. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications Preferred Work Experience – Previous experience in a production environment. Knowledge – Medical background preferred, including medical terminology applicable to a clinical laboratory. Skills – Minimal data entry skills.
