About the Role
The Company is seeking an Executive Director for its Land and Communities impact area. The successful candidate will be a senior leader with a vision for fostering prosperous, sustainable communities through innovative land policy and management. This role involves setting and developing strategies that prioritize the public good, particularly in the areas of secure and affordable housing, climate change mitigation, and the creation of inclusive local and regional economies. The Executive Director will be responsible for defining desired outcomes, collaborating with the C-suite and senior program leadership, and guiding the development of new research and practices. Additionally, the role includes overseeing fundraising, strengthening the company's international voice, and supervising a team of directors to ensure robust collaboration and the delivery of tangible outcomes. Applicants for the Executive Director position should have a minimum of 15 years' of relevant professional experience, a graduate degree in a related field, and a proven track record of leadership in land and community-focused work. The role requires superior communication, presentation, and leadership skills, as well as the ability to manage complex projects and teams. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in training and engaging with policymakers and a demonstrated ability to initiate and negotiate collaborations. Critical-thinking, problem-solving, and a commitment to transparency and mutual respect are essential. The Executive Director will also be expected to have a task-oriented work ethic, be responsive to deadlines, and demonstrate integrity and sound judgment.
