Behavioral Health Interventionist The School of Nursing is seeking a Behavioral Health Interventionist to play a key role in a new NIH‑funded randomized controlled trial (RCT) focused on childhood obesity prevention among 240 prepubertal girls at risk for earlier pubertal onset. Under the supervision of Maria Bleil, the Mental Health Practitioner, the interventionist will conduct weekly individual and group sessions, primarily online with some in‑person home visits, and track and document participant progress. Key Responsibilities Perform individual treatment sessions (≈65% of time) Conduct regular individual sessions with study families. Complete assessments for treatment plans and goals. Identify challenges and problem‑solve issues. Complete all required documentation per guidelines and timelines. Report protocol deviations, adverse events, and complaints promptly. Perform group treatment sessions (≈20% of time) Lead group sessions with caregivers, including activities and education. Communicate progress and status to the study team. Ensure written educational materials are updated and available. Perform support activities related to individual and group sessions (≈15% of time) Compile and organize research data and documentation. Maintain study files per confidentiality and regulatory standards. Participate in team meetings and supervision sessions. Keep current knowledge through literature searches and reviews. Assist in protocol development and training manual creation. Required Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in counseling, social work, or a related field and at least two years of related work experience (or equivalent combination of education and experience). Current Washington State driver’s license with ability to travel within Seattle and surrounding areas. At least two years of direct treatment experience with children and families. Experience implementing a treatment program, protocol, or curriculum. Experience participating in a human subjects research study involving health‑focused research. Excellent problem‑solving, organization, and detail‑orientation skills. Strong leadership, interpersonal, and team‑based skills. Preferred Qualifications Master’s degree in counseling, social work, or a related field. Previous behavioral health intervention experience with children and families. Previous in‑home research activity experience. Experience using REDCap, SharePoint, or similar platforms. Interest in working with diverse families in health disparity contexts. Knowledge of nutrition science, behavioral health, or health promotion. Working Conditions Work hours vary and include weekends, holidays, and outside regular hours. Sessions conducted online and in participants’ homes; may require travel up to 20 lbs. Must be able to drive to home sessions as needed. Compensation and Benefits $34.23–$47.54 per hour (hourly payroll). Position is temporary and part‑time.
