Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Neuro Stepdown & Epilepsy Monitoring Unit Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Nights Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 2 years License: Required Certifications: BLS, NIHSS Must-Have: Strong neuro experience, familiarity with stroke patients Description: We are seeking a Registered Nurse for a Neuro Stepdown and Epilepsy Monitoring Unit. This position requires a minimum of 2 years of relevant nursing experience. The nurse will be responsible for providing care to higher acuity neuroscience patients. Patients may include those with EVDs, strokes, and undergoing various neurological procedures. Candidates must have experience with NIHSS and a history of caring for stroke patients. Titration of drips is based on physician's orders in a step-down setting. The nurse will work with a charge nurse and will have the support of nursing aids. RT services are available 24/7, and nurses are not required to have vent experience. The nurse will not be responsible for reading telemetry strips. The schedule includes working three 12-hour shifts from 7 PM to 7:30 AM. Travelers will need to work weekends and holidays as scheduled. Flexibility in scheduling and willingness to float to other units may be required. The dress code for this position is royal blue scrubs. Unit-specific orientation is required for this role.
