Chief Operating Officer (COO) About the Company Accomplished real estate company Industry Real Estate Type Privately Held About the Role The Company is seeking a Chief Operating Officer (COO) to provide senior executive leadership and ensure the organization's day-to-day operations are in line with strategic objectives. The successful candidate will be decisive, disciplined, and execution-oriented, with a strong focus on process and systems. Key responsibilities for the COO include operational leadership to drive efficiency and productivity, financial and accounting oversight to ensure accuracy and transparency, and asset management to optimize real estate portfolio performance. The role also involves people and organizational leadership, with a focus on mentoring, developing, and inspiring teams, as well as process, systems, and governance to ensure compliance and reduce reliance on tribal knowledge. Applicants for the COO position at the company should have a minimum of 20 years' of relevant experience, preferably in commercial real estate ownership and operations, and a proven track record in operational and financial management. A strong working knowledge of Yardi is required, as is experience in property acquisitions and dispositions. The ideal candidate will have a diverse background across real estate operations, accounting/finance, asset management, and organizational leadership, and a demonstrated ability to identify and lead operational improvements. The role demands a leader with a strong presence, capable of guiding and elevating performance across teams, and who is comfortable driving change and holding teams accountable.
