About the Position We are seeking a detail-oriented Sr. Accountant to play a pivotal role in maintaining the integrity of our financial operations, including balance sheet reconciliations, journal entries, GAAP-compliant financial statement preparation, and multi-entity consolidations. In this role, you will serve as a key contributor to cross-functional collaboration—partnering with Accounts Payable and Treasury on cash disbursement processes while supporting both internal and external audit activities. This is an opportunity for a proactive accounting professional to drive meaningful impact by identifying efficiencies, enhancing internal controls, and ensuring the accuracy and reliability of financial data across a dynamic, project-driven organization. This role reports to the Manager, General Accounting. Essential Functions and Responsibilities Manage duties that support general accounting goals and priorities. Prepare balance sheet reconciliations and record journal entries, including quarterly accruals. Assist with all aspects of accounting and preparation of financial statements in accordance with GAAP. Review financial data for accuracy, identify problems and support day-to-day operations. Research and reconcile discrepancies and verify documents in accordance with accounting procedures and policies. Proactively work on initiatives to implement operational accounting efficiencies through process improvements and control enhancements. Assist in providing audit support to internal and external auditors. Manage accounts payable transactions and manage priorities related to the cash disbursement process through collaboration with the Accounts Payable accountant and Treasury department. Other duties as assigned. Required Skills and Qualifications BA/BS in Accounting, with an MBA or CPA preferred. 4+ years of experience in accounting, out of which a minimum of 2 years in public accounting or at a public company (Preferred). Knowledge of GAAP practices and processes. Familiarity with project level accounting, quarterly accruals, consolidations, and multi-entity structures. Excellent written and oral communication skills. Proficiency with Microsoft Excel. Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment while adapting quickly to maintain deadlines. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees and internal customers. NICE TO HAVES Experience in renewable energy accounting (Preferred). Experience with Sage Intacct (Preferred). Salary is determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position in California. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
