Travel Nurse Position

36 or 48 hour guarantee! Minimum experience: 2 years; 1st timers are accepted. Patient population: Adults to geriatrics. Certifications required: BLS, ACLS. General skills and work setting requirements: Patients are admitted to the admit unit via direct admission from associated clinics, physicians' offices, prompt cares or other hospitals or via an emergency room admission. Patient population consists of intermediate level (monitoring interventions no more frequent than 1 hour) and medical surgical patients. Such diagnoses included are dysrhythmias, CHF, acute onset stroke or stroke symptoms not requiring TPA or critical care, Acute Coronary Syndrome &/or Myocardial Ischemia, etc. Fast paced environment with focus on patient throughput while providing patient centered care. Great teamwork dynamic. All patients are on hardwire telemetry and self-monitored by the RN. Ratio/census: 1:4 ratio; 12 beds. Unit systems: Epic, Pyxis. Scrub color: Navy blue. RTO: MAX 7 days. Weekends: Every other weekend unless specified elsewhere. Floating: Possibly in low census times. Call requirements: Not specified. Holidays: If one major holiday falls in his/her assignment period, the traveler is expected to work it. If two major holidays fall in his/her assignment period, the traveler is expected to work both of the holidays. If three major holidays fall in his/her assignment period, the traveler is expected to work two of the holidays. Major holidays are listed below: New Year's Eve and Day: Sunday, December 31 & Monday, January 1 Memorial Day: Monday, May 27 Independence Day: Thursday, July 4 Labor Day: Monday, September 2 Thanksgiving/Black Friday: Thursday, November 28 & Friday November 29 Christmas Eve and Day: Sunday, December 24 & Monday, December 25 Compliance: Full compliance required to start on time; if not compliant in time the push back is 2 weeks due to bi-weekly orientation schedule.
