This position operates in a remote telehealth setting, allowing for flexible work arrangements that support a balanced lifestyle. As part of our team, you will engage with patients through virtual platforms, ensuring access to essential mental health services while maintaining the highest standards of confidentiality and care. Regular hours are Monday to Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm.

Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct comprehensive mental health assessments for elderly residents, identifying specific emotional and psychological needs.

• Deliver tailored individual and group counseling sessions addressing challenges such as depression, anxiety, and grief associated with aging.

• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to develop and monitor personalized care plans for geriatric clients.

• Educate families and staff on fostering emotional well-being and enhancing quality of life for aging individuals.

• Facilitate grief counseling sessions for clients and their families dealing with loss and end-of-life issues.

• Organize and implement cognitive stimulation programs to promote mental acuity, including activities and interventions that engage elderly patients.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

Your primary focus will be on elderly patients who often face complex mental health issues stemming from significant life transitions, loss, chronic illness, and age-related concerns. By offering specialized support, you will help clients navigate these challenges and improve their overall quality of life.

Qualifications\n

• A Master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling from an accredited institution.

• A valid Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) credential in New York.
\n
• A minimum of four years of relevant experience in geriatric mental health counseling, including therapeutic techniques aimed at older adults.

• Evidence of continued professional development in areas of geriatric mental health and age-related psychological issues.

• Strong interpersonal skills, enabling effective communication with elderly clients and their families.

• Demonstrated empathy and cultural sensitivity when working with diverse populations.

Compensation and Benefits\n
