This is an excellent opportunity for a facilities leader who enjoys building strong client relationships, supporting high-performing teams, and improving the day-to-day performance of complex facility operations.As the Facility Operations Manager, you will help shape the policies, procedures, and programs that support safe, reliable, and efficient facility operations. Your leadership will guide staff in addressing client and tenant needs while supporting environmental health, safety, and quality initiatives aligned with client objectives.In this important position, you will serve as a key point of contact for clients and help coordinate services, activities, financials, vendors, and staffing that support current and future building operations. You will also help drive financial performance and achieve key performance indicators within your designated portfolio. This role offers the opportunity to contribute directly to service excellence, operational accountability, and client satisfaction.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesLead daily facility maintenance operations, including preventive maintenance, corrective maintenance, work order management, inspections, and service response.Supervise and support maintenance personnel, including skilled trades, technicians, and other assigned team members.Oversee maintenance activities across multiple buildings, work areas, or campus locations.Ensure preventive maintenance schedules are completed on time and properly documented.Monitor work order status, backlog, completion rates, response times, and service quality.Maintain accurate records of work performed, including labor, materials, parts, equipment history, and related costs.Coordinate with vendors, subcontractors, and client-contracted service providers to support timely and effective completion of work.Support troubleshooting, first response, and stabilization of building systems and critical infrastructure.Evaluate operational needs and recommend methods, resources, or process improvements to enhance service delivery.Support compliance with applicable federal, state, local, client, and company safety requirements.Promote a safety-first culture and ensure employees follow established safety procedures, policies, and training requirements.Assist with incident reporting, corrective actions, and follow-up documentation as needed.Build and maintain positive client, employee, vendor, and community relationships.Communicate operational updates, risks, equipment concerns, staffing needs, and service issues to leadership.Support employee training, onboarding, coaching, performance management, and development.Assist with planning, scheduling, and resource allocation to meet operational priorities.Work closely with labor representatives and labor organizations, where applicable, in accordance with current collective bargaining agreement requirements.Manage shifting priorities in a fast-paced environment while maintaining service quality and operational accountability.Backfill or support the Director of Facilities Maintenance or other senior operations leader in their absence, when assigned.Minimum QualificationsBachelor's degree in facilities management, business management, engineering, technical discipline, or a related field; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.Minimum of eight years of relevant facilities maintenance or operations experience.Minimum of three years of experience managing a facilities team across multiple buildings, sites, or campus locations.Experience working in regulated, R&D, GMP, life sciences, manufacturing, healthcare, public sector, or similar high-compliance environments preferred.Strong leadership, relationship-building, and employee engagement skills.Ability to manage teams, vendors, competing priorities, and client expectations effectively.Strong analytical skills with experience using data, reports, and operational metrics to support decision-making.Demonstrated ability to develop and implement operational strategies that improve efficiency, reliability, and service delivery.Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Knowledge of standard business, budgeting, purchasing, and accounting practices.Proficiency with Microsoft Office programs, including Outlook, Word, and Excel.Preferred QualificationsCertified Facility Manager (CFM), Facility Management Professional (FMP), LEED accreditation, or similar professional certification.Experience with managing central utility plant operationsExperience in a cGMP, GxP, life sciences, pharmaceutical, biotech, R&D, healthcare, or other high-compliance environment.Familiarity with GxP, GMP, or other regulated facility requirements.Experience using a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS), such as Tririga or a similar platform.Experience managing union employees or working within a collective bargaining agreement environment.Experience supporting critical building systems, utilities, HVAC, electrical, mechanical, plumbing, life safety, and related facility infrastructure.Knowledge, Skills, and AbilitiesStrong understanding of facility maintenance operations, preventive maintenance programs, and work order management.Ability to lead teams with professionalism, accountability, and consistency.Strong customer service mindset and ability to maintain positive client relationships.Ability to interpret operational data, identify trends, and recommend corrective actions.Strong organizational and time management skills.Ability to communicate clearly with employees, leadership, clients, vendors, and contractors.Ability to remain calm and solutions-focused during urgent or changing operational conditions.Ability to support a culture of safety, compliance, teamwork, and continuous improvement.Strong judgment, discretion, and problem-solving skills.Physical and Work Environment RequirementsAbility to work in an active facility environment, including offices, mechanical rooms, utility areas, maintenance shops, and exterior site locations.Ability to walk, stand, bend, climb stairs, and access facility areas as needed.May be required to respond to urgent facility issues outside of regular business hours.Must be able to comply with all site safety, security, training, and access requirements.May require use of personal protective equipment depending on site conditions and work assignments.U.S. Facilities, Inc. provides equal employment opportunities to all employees and applicants and prohibits discrimination and harassment of any type, including but not limited to race, color, religion, age, sex, national origin, disability status, genetics, protected veteran status, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, or any other characteristic protected by federal, state, or local laws.
