We are seeking a Human Resources Generalist who is passionate about people, teamwork, and creating a positive workplace culture. Position Summary The Human Resources Generalist supports the day-to-day HR operations of the Co-op and serves as a trusted resource for employees and managers. This position is responsible for recruiting, onboarding, benefits administration, employee relations, training coordination, compliance, and HR recordkeeping. The ideal candidate is organized, approachable, and committed to fostering an inclusive and supportive work environment. Key Responsibilities Coordinate recruitment, interviewing, hiring, and onboarding activities. Administer employee benefits, leave programs, and workers' compensation claims. Maintain personnel files and HR records in compliance with applicable laws and regulations. Assist employees and supervisors with HR-related questions and concerns. Support employee relations efforts and help resolve workplace issues professionally and confidentially. Coordinate training, orientation, and professional development programs. Assist with performance review processes and employee recognition initiatives. Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws. Support payroll and timekeeping processes as needed. Help cultivate a workplace culture rooted in cooperation, respect, diversity, and community engagement. Qualifications Required: Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field, or equivalent experience. Minimum 2–4 years of human resources experience. Knowledge of employment law, HR best practices, and employee relations. Strong organizational and administrative skills. Excellent written and verbal communication abilities. Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment. Proficiency with Microsoft Office and HR information systems. Preferred: Experience in retail, grocery, food service, or cooperative organizations. SHRM-CP, PHR, or similar HR certification. Experience with benefits administration and leave management.
