For more information, visit: Responsibilities:Lead and design HVAC and mechanical systems for a variety of building types, including commercial, institutional, healthcare, and public sector facilitiesPrepare and oversee construction documents, technical specifications, and design calculationsPerform load calculations, equipment selection, and system layouts in compliance with applicable codes and standardsCoordinate mechanical designs with architectural, structural, electrical, and plumbing disciplinesInterface with clients, architects, and regulatory agencies throughout project developmentReview shop drawings, RFIs, and submittals; provide construction phase support as neededMentor junior engineers and designers, providing technical guidance and quality oversightSupport project pursuits, proposals, and client development activitiesQualifications:Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related disciplineProfessional Engineer (PE) license preferredMinimum 8–12 years of experience in HVAC and mechanical system designStrong knowledge of ASHRAE standards, NYS Building Code, energy codes, and applicable industry standardsProficiency with HVAC design and drafting software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit, load calculation software)Experience with public and private sector projects preferredExcellent communication, coordination, and project management skillsRequirementsMINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:Maintain a valid driver's license with a clean motor vehicle report (MVR) for final considerationRead, write, and understand plans and directions given in the English languageBasic computer skills with the ability to create and edit Microsoft Word and Excel documents, create Outlook emails and utilize SharePoint and Microsoft Teams to communicate with other team membersAble to traverse a construction job site consisting of uneven ground varying in height and consistency of material, with a variation of elevation 19" or less (mud, gravel, rutted ground, etc.)Able to climb and leave a ladder to a platform varying from 6' to 20' Able to wear GPI required PPE, i.e., hard hats, safety vest, work boots, and/or safety glasses/goggles while working GPI offers excellent benefits, including a 401(k) plan, ESOP, medical/dental/vision plans, paid time off, and more.
