Position Summary: The Plant Supervisor- Structural (3rd Shift 9:00pm-5:30am) supervises activities of Shop employees, supports manufacturing, and safety objectives. Ideal Candidate: Legally authorized to work in the United States without requiring Sponsorship Must be available to work on-site daily in Hobart, Indiana Must be available to work 3rd shift hours 9:00pm-5:30am (Two Saturdays monthly will be required as well) Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including advanced functions, formulas, and data analysis tools. Proven ability to work independently with minimal supervision while maintaining high-quality output. A collaborative team player who thrives in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. Strong attention to detail, problem-solving, and analytical skills. Excellent communication skills for cross-functional collaboration and reporting. Responsibilities Job duties include but are not limited to: Leads the daily work of the team, including scheduling staff, planning and assigning work, implementing policies and procedures, and ensuring efficient work flow Direct employees in meeting quality and on-time delivery requirements, address production challenges, and communicate issues to relevant managers Follow the dispatch due dates and send reports with updates on the end of your shift to your manager and plant manager Partner with production department in managing workflow and ensuring that employees understand their responsibilities and delegated tasks Lead 6S improvements with your manager and direct employees to reach the goal of 90 points Provides technical guidance to team members and consults with other resources when needed Communicates with the Manager regarding schedules and backlogs Assists the Manager with selection and performance management of employees and recommending compensation Recommends equipment upgrades, staffing adjustments, improvements in procedures and working conditions, and process modifications Monitoring employee productivity and providing constructive feedback and coaching Gives the team written and oral instructions Standardizes procedures to improve efficiency Follows departmental policies, procedures, and objectives, continuous improvement objectives, and safety rules Maintain timekeeping and attendance records for your groups using UKG Issue corrective actions for employees who are not adhering to company policies (safety, attendance etc) Ensures that employees are progressing on training plans to achieve higher levels of performance and production. Evaluates employee performance. Responsible for first line employee relations and resolution of issues within their departments. Employees are responsible to comply with all requirements of Daifuku’s QMS policies and procedures. Employees are to ensure sustainable process outputs that drive continuous improvement to provide leading industry performance and exceptional customer satisfaction Qualifications Education and Experience Requirements: High school graduate or equivalent; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in a technical field a plus Minimum of 5 years of manufacturing experience Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Requirements: Supervisory experience a plus Supervisory skills Ability to deal with conflicts and employee issues in a professional manner Technical orientation with ability to learn new technologies Computer skills including MS Office Ability to multi-task while maintaining attention to detail and deadlines Team-oriented and collaborative Good verbal and written communication skills Strong organizational skills Customer service orientation Problem-solving and analytical skills Must be able to write and speak English Language Job Posting Min Salary
