Bring your expertise and compassion to support young learners in a dynamic educational environment as a Special Education Teacher. This part-time contract role is set in a supportive elementary setting that values collaboration and student-focused instruction. Enjoy a balanced schedule—either Monday through Friday mornings from 8:15 am to 12:15 pm, or choose longer days on Monday and Wednesday with a half day on Tuesday.
As a valued part of the Early Childhood Special Education program, you’ll work in a self-contained classroom alongside two full-time paraeducators, ensuring every student receives the personal attention they deserve. Mondays are devoted to paperwork and meetings, providing time to reflect, plan, and collaborate without direct classroom responsibilities. There may also be occasional opportunities to serve as a float substitute within the ECSE program, allowing you to broaden your impact across the school.
Desired Qualifications:
- Current Tier 4 Early Childhood Special Education License (required)
- Experience in self-contained special education or early childhood settings
- Strong communication and team collaboration skills
- Flexibility to support students across a dynamic learning environment
Key Responsibilities:
- Create and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to student needs
- Foster a nurturing, inclusive classroom environment with the support of paraeducators
- Utilize data and assessments to drive instruction and track student progress
- Engage in team meetings, planning sessions, and family communications
- Serve as a float substitute as needed across the ECSE program
