Business Development Manager (Aerospace)

Job description: Business Development Leader Aerospace/Defense ManufacturingPOSITION CAN BE REMOTE USA – with travel to Phoenix AZ (HQ) and to customersPosition SummaryMulti billion dollar parent company, $500M Division with newly created role to help a stable business continue to grow.The Business Development Leader manages existing customer relationships and pursues new customers in current or adjacent markets. This role focuses on growth and identifying value propositions for the customer base, and supports proposal execution.Key ResponsibilitiesAchieve assigned targets for profitable sales volume and strategic objectives in designated accountsSupport estimating and other activities with customer follow-up for in-process and submitted quotes and proposalsDevelop Capture Plans for strategic/target programs, part numbers, and customersStay current on industry intel, new programs, customer news, new technology, new requirements, and aircraft platform ratesSupport activities for customer awards, including contract reviewDevelop, maintain, and expand relationships with key strategic partners, industry leaders, and internal staffIdentify new customers within designated accounts and regionsMaintain knowledge of market trends, competitive actions, product needs, and customer base to support company objectivesWork with business units to develop and execute consistent customer strategiesAssist business units with customer account planning and forecastingAssist business units with resolution of customer issuesProactively assess, clarify, and validate customer needs on an ongoing basisProvide market updates to business units for designated customers and regionsGive high-level presentations to customers and create sales presentations in support of leadershipConduct day-to-day sales functions including data mining, spreadsheet modeling, and database entryTrack opportunities, create sales forecasts, and develop sales plansSet up, coordinate, and prepare periodic joint customer reviews with key accountsActively support and participate in continuous improvement, 6S, safety, management of change, and trade compliance activities Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering, or related discipline – DESIRED8+ years of sales experience of machined products for aerospace / defenseAbility to prioritize work and meet competing or short-notice deadlines consistentlyMotivated self-starter with the ability to juggle multiple tasks simultaneouslyProgram management skillsProven customer relations skillsContract administration skillsEffective problem-solving skillsStrong oral and written communication skillsStrong interpersonal and leadership skillsAbility to utilize essential business tools: MS Excel, MS Word, MS PowerPoint, MS Teams Why is This a Great Opportunity: Must have experience selling to Aero/Def for a Machining companyNo sales team in place, so it will be easy to win in this position by bringing in any large Aero/Def customers
