What you will be responsible for in this role: Receiving, processing and checking of merchandise to verify the correctness of the shipment against all documentation. Prepare documentation such as work orders, bills of lading and shipment orders to route materials. Verification and data entry of all incoming material shipments. Examine contents and compare with records, such as manifest, invoices or orders to verify accuracy of incoming or outgoing shipment. Record shipment data such as weight, charges, space availability, damages and discrepancies for reporting, accounting and recordkeeping purposes. Contact carrier representative to make arrangements and to issue instructions for shipment and delivery of raw materials. Communicate with establishment representatives to rectify problems such as damages, shortages, and non-conformance to specifications and file freight claims. Compute amounts, such as space available, storage, shipping and demurrage charges using a calculator or price list. Maintain Raw Materials Receiving Calendar. Monitor receiving materials and supplies to maintain inventory of stock. Deliver or route materials to departments, using work devices, such as hand truck, conveyor, or sorting bins. Additional responsibilities as requested by Supervisor/Manager.

What are the basic qualifications? High School Diploma or GED required. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, internet, web-based and job specific software applications. Accurate typing skills and/or data entry skills.

What are the preferred qualifications? AS400 experience preferred. Ability to communicate and interact effectively with multi-functional and diverse backgrounds. Must possess excellent communication skills. Must be detail oriented and able to perform well in a fast paced environment. Must be self-motivated and able to demonstrate sound judgment when confronted with unexpected or unfamiliar work and/or people situations. Strong computer literacy.
