Commercial Loan Assistant

Under limited supervision, provides advanced support to Commercial Loan Officers by performing varied administrative duties related to commercial lending. Has a thorough understanding of complex loan requirements and assists in the preparation of all types of loan packages. Serves as a liaison between lenders, internal business partners and customers. Able to provide executive assistant role by helping with calendar coordination and scheduling meetings. Will also need to be able to compile management reports.

Essential Functions and Basic Duties

• Participates with and assists loan officers on commercial and real estate loans
• Coordinates with title companies on real estate loans
• Provides administrative and operational support within the commercial loan function; assists loan officers in handling loans
• Obtains financial data and provides customer service on approved lines of credit, equipment, financing loans, etc.
• Will follow up and communicate consistently with clients, and provides other customer service as required
• Coordinates the daily workflow in and out of the area to ensure that current loans are in complete conformity with terms
• Establishes and maintains appropriate files and records for loan documents
• Provide information necessary for loan preparation
• Organize and schedule loan closings
• Gather credit and loan information from customers to complete request for loan transactions
• Coordinate loan packages and documentation for customers' signature
• Examine loan terms, interest rates and funded within established time frames.
• Assures the accurate, efficient, and timely processing of activities in these areas through proper planning and scheduling
• Develops and prepares reports and records relating commercial loans as required
• Coordinates the workflow with related departments
• Drafts necessary documents and agreements
• Provides customers with routine platform services, such as approving checks for cashing or handling customer problems.
• Will handle marketing initiatives
• All other duties as needed or required

Qualifications

Education/Certification:

High School Diploma or GED

Experience Required:

A minimum of 5-years Commercial Administrative Loan Assistant experience with heavy emphasis in all phases of commercial lending is required.

SBA lending experience a plus.

Skills/Abilities:

Excellent organizational skills, the ability to multi-task, high energy, and be detail oriented.

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.

Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.

Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.

Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts and interest.

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.

Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Ability to make appropriate judgments and decisions with limited guidance.

Ability to deal with complex problems involving multiple facets and variables in non-standardized situations.

Strong public speaking and presentation skills.

Excellent written and verbal communications skills.

Ability to maintain confidentiality and instill trust within the organization.

Proficient in a Microsoft environment using: Word, Excel, Teams, and PowerPoint.

Ability to multitask is essential.

Physical Strength: Sedentary work; sitting most of the time. Exerts up to 10 lbs. of force occasionally. (Almost all office jobs.)

Able to interpret a variety of technical instructions and can deal with multiple variables.

Mathematics Ability: Ability to compute discount, interest, profit, and loss; commission markup and selling price; and ratio, proportion, and percentage.

Able to perform very simple algebra.

Language Ability: Ability to read periodicals, journals, manuals, dictionaries, thesauruses, and encyclopedias.
