Senior AccountantNow hiring Senior Accountant – Direct Hire Location: Lafayette, LA Salary: $75,000.00 – $90,000.00 per year Schedule: 1st Shift Education Requirements Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required. CPA certification or CPA-track candidate preferred. Strong knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and corporate accounting best practices. Experience Requirements Minimum 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including senior accountant-level responsibilities. Proven expertise in fixed asset accounting, capital asset management, depreciation, and general ledger reconciliation. Experience with ERP systems, financial reporting, month-end close, and audit support. Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including reporting, data analysis, and account reconciliation. Demonstrated ability to work independently, solve complex accounting issues, and drive process improvements. Physical Capabilities Ability to remain stationary and work at a computer for extended periods. Frequent use of a keyboard, mouse, and other office technology. Ability to review financial reports, spreadsheets, and accounting records with a high level of accuracy. Occasionally move and transport files, records, or office materials up to 15 pounds. Job Duties Manage all aspects of fixed asset accounting, including asset capitalization, transfers, disposals, depreciation, and asset tracking. Maintain and reconcile the fixed asset subledger to the general ledger, ensuring accurate financial records. Review and classify capital expenditures in compliance with GAAP standards. Prepare and post journal entries, perform account reconciliations, and support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes. Assist with financial statement preparation, variance analysis, budgeting, and capital expenditure reporting. Support internal and external audits by providing accurate documentation and financial data. Conduct fixed asset inventory reviews and help maintain effective asset management controls. Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, increase efficiency, and strengthen financial reporting accuracy. Collaborate with cross-functional teams while demonstrating strong ownership, accountability, and a continuous improvement mindset. Benefits vary by client and are confirmed at the time of offer.
