Medical Lab Scientist

Gross Weekly Pay: $1,995 A Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) , also known as a Medical Technologist, performs complex tests on blood, tissue, and other bodily fluids to help physicians diagnose, monitor, and treat diseases. Their work accounts for a massive percentage of critical medical decisions. Key Responsibilities
- Specimen Analysis: Perform high-complexity testing in areas like hematology, clinical chemistry, microbiology, immunology, and blood banking.
- Equipment & Technology: Operate, calibrate, and maintain sophisticated laboratory analyzers and computerized instruments.
- Quality Assurance: Monitor quality control metrics to ensure data accuracy and strictly adhere to compliance regulations (like CLIA and CAP).
- Result Reporting: Analyze test data, identify abnormal or critical values, and accurately report findings to physicians and nursing staff.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Medical Laboratory Science, Medical Technology, or a related biological/chemical science.
- Certification: Certification from an accredited agency, most commonly the American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP) or American Medical Technologists (AMT) .
