Allied - Surgical Technologist

Surgical Technologist - Tier 7 Eye, ENT, Plastic

The Surgical Technologist will assist in various surgical procedures in eye, ear, nose, throat (ENT), and plastic surgery specialties. This position requires working 12-hour shifts with weekday and weekend call responsibilities, along with possible holiday call requirements. The first week or two will include varied shifts for orientation.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist with a variety of surgical procedures, including:
• Ophthalmology: Vitrectomy and open globe repair
• Plastic Surgery: Abdominoplasty, DIEP flap surgery, breast reconstruction, free flap procedures, laparoscopic techniques
• ENT Procedures: Arch bars, facial repairs (mandibular, zygomatic), sinus surgery, radical neck dissection, tracheostomy, septoplasty, acoustics (crani experience), direct laryngoscopy
• Otology: Cochlear implants
• Utilize and maintain various surgical equipment and instruments including: Constellation, Straight Shot, liposuction, neoprobe, NIM, Piezo, Klein Pump, Stryker Navigation
• Operate and assist with specialized microscopes: Pentero, Mitaka, and Leica
• Ensure sterile techniques and safety protocols are followed during procedures
• Collaborate with the surgical team to provide optimal patient care

Qualifications

• A minimum of two years of scrub experience or equivalent relevant experience is required
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) is mandatory
• Successful completion of a surgical technologist program; equivalent experience in the Surgical Technologist role may be considered in lieu of formal program completion

Work Schedule

This position requires flexibility with shifts including:

• Day shifts (6:40 AM - 7:10 PM and 10:40 AM - 11:10 PM)
• Call responsibilities on weekdays, weekends, and possible holidays
