Temporary Faculty Pool, Theatre Arts - Speech Program

Position Overview The Department of Theatre & Dance at California State University, Dominguez Hills invites highly qualified and well‑organized candidates for part‑time teaching appointments in our Temporary Faculty Pool. Positions are filled as needed based on student enrollment and funding. Develop and deliver instructional materials, assess student learning, and create a positive learning environment. Qualifications Required Qualifications Master’s degree in Speech, Public Speaking, or Theatre. Appropriate experience related to the subject of the course(s) assigned. Experience teaching adult learners from diverse ages, socioeconomic, cultural, and academic backgrounds. Preferred Qualifications Prior teaching experience at the college or university level and evidence of strong teaching capabilities. Doctoral degree in a relevant field. Experience teaching online. Employment Requirements Satisfactory completion of a background check is required for employment. All employment is subject to the policies and guidelines of the California State University system. Salary and Benefits Initial rank and salary for lecturer faculty are based on professional experience and educational background. Classification salary ranges for July 2024 are: Lecturer A: $5,507 – $6,677 Lecturer B: $6,221 – $13,224 Lecturer C: $6,825 – $14,523 Lecturer D: $8,593 – $15,211 The CSU system offers a competitive total compensation benefits package for employees and qualifying dependents, including medical, dental, vision, retirement, and tuition assistance.
