2026-27 AY Lecturer Pool – Theatre and Dance Job No: 555021 Work type: Instructional Faculty – Temporary/Lecturer Location: Los Angeles Categories: Unit 3 – CFA – California Faculty Association, Faculty – Fine/Performing Arts, Temporary, Part Time College: Arts and Letters Position Title: 2026-27 AY Lecturer Pool – Theatre and Dance Department: Theatre and Dance The Theatre and Dance Department in the College of Arts & Letters is seeking applications for a pool of part‑time faculty lecturers. Positions will be filled as needed during the 2026–2027 academic year, each appointment typically for one semester, with possibility for renewal. Applicants will be hired on conditional appointments based on enrollment and budget. Availability on short notice may be required. Responsibilities Duties include instruction, class preparation, grading, and office hours. Additional duties may be assigned based on departmental needs. Course assignments, dates, time, and modality are determined by the Department Chair. Qualifications Minimum Qualifications: Appropriate degree from an accredited university: bachelor’s for lower division courses plus substantial teaching experience; master’s for upper division undergraduate courses; doctoral or master’s plus substantial teaching experience for graduate courses. Demonstrated excellence in college‑level teaching. Ability to relate well with others in an academic environment; demonstrated interest in a multiethnic, multicultural setting. Experience and commitment to student‑centered learning and teaching. Proficiency in written and oral use of the English language. Preferred Qualifications: Experience working with diverse populations and fostering a collaborative, supportive, inclusive environment. Relevant work experience and training in theatre or dance. Salary Initial salary commensurate with qualifications. Salary ranges per academic year month classification are as follows (per salary schedule 7/1/2024): Lecturer A/2 – $5,507 – $6,677 Lecturer B/3 – $6,221 – $13,224 Lecturer C/4 – $6,825 – $14,523 Lecturer D/5 – $8,593 – $15,211 The anticipated monthly hiring range is generally at or near the minimum of the appropriate range, with most new lecturers hired at the Lecturer A or B rank. A narrative statement describing your commitment to working effectively with faculty, staff, and students in a multicultural/multiethnic urban campus environment and among many first‑generation students. An updated curriculum vitae. A list of CSU courses previously taught, and/or courses or topic areas qualified for and requested for consideration to teach in the upcoming academic year. Official transcripts (required upon hire offer and prior to employment). Proof of eligibility to work in the United States.
