2026-27 Academic Year Lecturer Pool – Music The Music Department in the College of Arts and Letters at Cal State LA seeks part‑time faculty lecturers for the 2026‑27 academic year. Positions will be filled as instructional needs arise each semester; initial appointments are typically one semester, with possible renewal based on department needs, funding, and performance. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor’s degree and substantial teaching experience for lower‑division courses, or a master’s degree for upper‑division undergraduate courses. Doctoral degree, or a master’s degree combined with substantial teaching experience for graduate courses. Demonstrated excellence in college‑level teaching and commitment to student‑centered learning. Ability to relate well to colleagues, students, and staff in a multicultural environment. Proficiency in written and oral use of the English language. Preferred Qualifications Experience working with diverse populations and fostering an inclusive environment. Relevant work experience and training beyond the minimum requirements. Duties Deliver instruction, prepare classes, grade assignments, and hold office hours. Perform additional duties as assigned by the department chair to meet instructional needs. Salary Lecturer A (2 FTE): $5,507 – $6,677 per month. Lecturer B (3 FTE): $6,221 – $13,224 per month. Lecturer C (4 FTE): $6,825 – $14,523 per month. Lecturer D (5 FTE): $8,593 – $15,211 per month.
