River Valley Marine is hiring an experienced Marine Service Advisor / Service Writer to join our award-winning dealership serving the Lake Minnetonka boating community. As our dealership continues to grow, we're looking for an experienced Marine Service Advisor / Service Writer who will primarily support our Service Department while providing occasional assistance to our established Parts Department during peak business periods. You'll help customers with repairs, maintenance, seasonal service, and boating questions while delivering an exceptional ownership experience from start to finish. Whether your experience comes from the marine industry, automotive, RV, powersports, heavy equipment, or another dealership environment, we're looking for someone who enjoys helping customers, solving problems, and building lasting relationships. Join one of North America's Top 10 Marine Dealers Work around premium pontoons, fishing boats, surf boats, wake boats, and marine accessories every day Help customers spend more time enjoying the water Family-owned company with a reputation built on exceptional customer service Modern dealership with an outstanding team culture Employee discounts on boats, parts, accessories, apparel, and service Long-term career growth opportunities within River Valley Companies What You'll Do Service Responsibilities Serve as the primary point of contact for customers regarding repairs, maintenance, diagnostics, winterization, storage, commissioning, and seasonal service Write accurate repair orders and service estimates Schedule repairs and coordinate technician workflow Communicate repair recommendations, timelines, and repair updates Keep customers informed throughout the repair process Assist with warranty administration and service documentation Follow up after service to ensure an exceptional customer experience Build long-term customer relationships that create loyal River Valley Marine customers Parts Support Responsibilities Assist the Parts Department during busy periods and seasonal demand Help customers identify the correct marine parts and accessories when needed Support technicians by coordinating parts requests with the Parts Department Assist with special orders, warranty parts, and customer pickups Help maintain accurate documentation within dealership systems Work collaboratively with our Parts Manager to ensure customers receive timely, accurate service Team Responsibilities Deliver an exceptional ownership experience for every customer Build lasting relationships with customers and fellow boating enthusiasts Utilize Lightspeed EVO and dealership software to document customer interactions Support dealership goals related to customer satisfaction, efficiency, profitability, and teamwork Contribute to a positive, professional, and customer-focused culture What We're Looking For Genuine passion for boating, fishing, watersports, or lake life Experience as a Marine Service Advisor, Marine Service Writer, Boat Service Writer, Automotive Service Advisor, RV Service Writer, Powersports Service Advisor, Service Writer, Parts Advisor, or a similar dealership service professional Outstanding customer service and communication skills Strong organizational and multitasking abilities Ability to explain technical information in a way customers understand Comfortable recommending maintenance, repairs, accessories, and seasonal services High attention to detail and strong follow-through Strong computer skills Positive attitude and team-first mentality Valid driver's license required Preferred Experience Marine service or boat service Boat ownership or active boating lifestyle Marina operations Marine parts and accessories Boat maintenance Winterization and seasonal storage Mercury, Yamaha, Suzuki, Volvo Penta, or other marine engine brands Automotive dealerships RV dealerships Powersports dealerships Warranty administration Inventory coordination Lightspeed EVO, Outlook, Excel, or SharePoint New to the Marine Industry?
