Hardware Tester

Role Overview

Conduct hands-on testing of next-generation robotic hardware and provide real-world input that helps improve AI systems. This contract opportunity is open to recent graduates, students, and experienced professionals. No prior AI experience is required.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform functional and reliability tests on robotic sub-assemblies and hardware components.
• Use DAQ systems, measurement instruments, and other diagnostic equipment according to provided protocols.
• Document test procedures, results, and anomalies clearly in writing and verbally.
• Identify and report failures or unexpected hardware behavior with clear descriptions.
• Work with engineers and other experts to investigate root causes and identify opportunities for improvement.
• Follow detailed test instructions accurately and reliably.
• Help improve testing processes and documentation.

Qualifications

• Basic knowledge of electrical and mechanical systems and terminology.
• Clear written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong attention to detail, reliability, and ability to follow instructions precisely.
• Physical stamina for repeated hardware test setup, operation, and teardown.
• Comfort handling physical equipment and completing hands-on technical work.
• A degree in progress or completed in Mechanical Engineering, Robotics, Mechatronics, Electrical Engineering, or a related field is preferred.
• Hardware testing or laboratory experience is helpful but not required.

Work Terms

• Contract engagement based in Los Angeles, California.

Compensation

• $10 to $20 per hour.
