Job Description Supports and provides coordination and direction to staff members by proactively offering assistance, serving as a preceptor and mentoring others regarding the care of defined populations in resource utilization and time management. Collaborates to foster healthy relationships in the work environment. Actively participates/coordinates the interviewing process of candidates in hospital-based departments for the Cardiac Service line and coordinates the orientation schedule of newly hired staff as appropriate. Communicates organizational information and aspects of administrative and clinical practice in a respectful and positive manner when interacting with staff. Teaches and coordinates co‑workers to develop comprehensive plans of care in collaboration with patients and families, incorporating individual differences and preventive planning; coordinates timely patient care between health‑care providers and other ancillary clinicians for a defined patient population, focusing on identified expected unit/optimal outcomes individualized to the patient. Provides safe and effective care by leading and initiating areas for improvement in patient care or unit operations, outcome, quality and patient safety improvement activities in alignment with organizational goals; integrates, modifies, and contributes to professional practice standards, policies, procedures, and protocols by participating in unit projects, shared governance activities, or interdisciplinary team activities. Leads and supports colleagues and team members in conducting evidence‑based practice/performance improvement projects and implementing findings; facilitates active involvement of others in team meetings, unit activities and process improvement. Performs accurate and timely documentation in medical records, including diagnosis and CPT coding. Implements department strategies to achieve financial targets and mentors others to do the same through timely documentation of care, decreasing length of stay, optimizing efficiency, and other areas according to department specifications; projects awareness and understanding of resource allocation based on patient needs and staff experience, knowledge, and skills. Demonstrates leadership as clinical resource, and patient advocate by serving as an instructor in continuing education and formal program; identifies leadership opportunities for professional growth of staff and coaches/mentors individuals to accomplish goals. Generates and communicates new ideas to lead the team to creative strategies that improve quality or service and impact the department and address organizational or departmental priorities. Participates in hospital and system‑wide committees representing the Advanced Practice Provider community of Atlantic Health System. Qualifications Nurse Practitioner: BSN and MSN from an accredited school of nursing; successful completion of an approved Nurse Practitioner program required. Physician Assistant: Physician assistant education program approved by the Accreditation Review Commission on Education for the Physician Assistant (ARC‑PA). Minimum of three years of experience in an advanced practice provider role in specialty required, with demonstrated increasing responsibility; prior leadership experience preferred. Nurse Practitioner: Current valid New Jersey State Nurse Practitioner License. Physician Assistant: New Jersey Licensure by passing the Physician Assistant National Certifying Examination (PANCE). Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Basic Life Support (BLS) certifications.
