Maintenance Mechanic

Maintenance Mechanic (Boeing Defense, Space and Security) Boeing Defense, Space and Security (BDS) is seeking a Maintenance Mechanic to support the flight ramp in Berkley, MO. This position is 100% onsite. Responsibilities Assist in maintaining aviation ground support equipment, performing daily inspections and completing associated paperwork. Maintain and follow the maintenance periodic inspection plan. Rebuild, repair, service, assemble, diagnose, and correct malfunctions in automotive, transportation equipment, battery‑operated motive equipment, cleaning equipment (floor scrubbers), and internal combustion engines. Maintain facility cleanliness using powered and unpowered cleaning equipment. Assist in maintaining inventory control of the automotive fleet of trucks and support equipment. Operate and maintain inspection of the fleet. Assist in planning and performing unusual and difficult work where standard inspection methods may not be available. Perform a sequence of operations that may not have standard methods, using judgment to fit and adjust parts and assemblies to requirements and specifications. Provide careful judgment when performing complicated operations. Base Qualifications 1+ years of experience in production equipment maintenance. 1+ years of experience in ground support equipment maintenance. 1+ years of experience working independently with minimal supervision. Preferred Qualifications Experience specific to ground support equipment (GSE). Forklift certification. Security Clearance and Export Control This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. citizenship. An interim and/or final U.S. Secret clearance Post‑Start is required. Union and Compensation This is a union‑represented hourly position governed by the International Association of Machinists (IAM 837) Collective Bargaining Agreement. Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications and ranges from $26.00 to $51.44 per hour. Employees are required to work any shift as assigned. Shift Information The candidate must be able to work any shift assigned. Relocation Relocation assistance is not a negotiable benefit.
